— Manifesto

We are a small press. We have been a small press for seventy-five years. A press is a kind of patience — you set the type, you ink the rollers, you watch the impression, and you do not move on until the page is what you meant it to be.

That is what Franklin offers, still. Quiet rooms on Beverly Avenue, careful hands, three generations of attention. Whatever you bring us, we will print it the way it ought to be printed.

04 / The Method

From a desk to your door.

A small shop has a way of staying close to a job. Four quiet steps, on a single roof, with one team you can call.

  1. I

    A conversation

Tell us what you have in mind — quantity, paper, finish, deadline. We talk it through and write up a clear quote.

    step 01
  2. II

    Proof & approval

Send art ready-to-print, or let us help set it. We send a proof for your sign-off so the press never runs on guesswork.

    step 02
  3. III

    On the press

Your job moves through the shop with the same care it would have in 1950 — minded, watched, and run with intention.

    step 03
  4. IV

    In your hands

Pick up at the shop, get free local delivery in the Zanesville area, or let us ship or mail it. For mailing jobs, we sort, address, and drop everything to the post office.

A farmhouse basement, in 1950.

After serving as a medic in the military, Everett H. Jackson, Sr. took a printing class on the GI Bill, bought used equipment from a local print shop, and brought it home. Working between morning and evening milkings, he and his wife Lucille built Franklin Printing one job at a time.

Seventy-five years later, the press is still running.

My printer failed on me and I needed a newsletter printed — 80 copies, two pages, two-sided, full color. By 3pm my newsletter was completed. I am very happy with how it looks.
